Activist Rights

Liabilities

Estimated reading: 1 minute

Being ‘liable’ means you are legally responsible for something.

There are many laws, rules, and regulations in “Australia” that make people liable for things.

For example, in Victoria the Environmental Protection Act makes littering illegal. Depending on the circumstances the person liable could be:

  • the organisation that organises the printing;
  • the person handing leaflets out;
  • the person letterboxing; or
  • the person postering.
