Local laws

Local lawsLaws made and enforced by municipal councils within their boundaries. Previously called by-laws. More (sometimes called ‘by-laws’) are council laws.

Council laws cover things like:

• event permits,
• using public spaces (such as having stalls or collecting donations),
• camping rules, or
• where you can drink alcohol.
