An employer, employee or employee organisation (trade union) can take part in an “industrial action”.

Industrial action is activism at the workplace to improve things such as working conditions or pay rates.

Employees (workers) may decide to go on strike by refusing to work or attend their workplace – or they may impose work bans by refusing to perform parts of their usual duties or do their duties very slowly.

Employers may take action by locking out employees from the workplace and not allowing them to work.
